Reculver, Kent Originally I had this location down for a dawn shot-tide out, broken cloud, sun rising on the horizon igniting the sky with a riot of colour. Well, best laid plans and all that, it turns out that this sunset was as good as I could ever expect. As ever, the race to find a winning composition before the light faded was a battle that had me running up and down the slope between the beach and the high ground looking for the best potential in each option. I settled on the beach and found myself drawn to these rocks having started on the open sand where I found the shot lacked 'depth.' The lovely texture of the rocks, the warm light reflecting off the surface and the Reculver towers silhouetted in the background had me cursing all those fruitless dawn patrols.
