 Poppy in Bloom I wanted to find a poppy that I could photograph against the lush green back drop of the surrounding foliage. This meant a long lens and a wide aperture to make the poppy stand out but what works just as well here is the back lighting from the sun picking out the reds in the petals and the hairs on the stem.
