A cyclist on Dhurb Dhabashi, Marrakesh, Morocco The bustle of the streets of Marrakesh at night has to be seen to be believed-you share the small roads with cats, carts, cyclists, dogs, donkeys, and, oh yes, pedestrians. It's chaos and it's a photographic dream.
For this shot I opted to stay put and just observe what was going on around me and after a while I noticed a few cyclists weaving their way through the street. I liked the idea of the contrast between the riders' traditional dress and mode of transport against the bright street colours and general hustle and bustle. To try and capture this in a creative way I decided to practice some panning and played around with exposures until I found one that worked for the speed of this subject. The secret, I felt, was to keep the cyclist as sharp and central to the image as possible whilst allowing the rest of the scene to blur into an abstract tapestry of colour.
