Thirlmere, England Working alongside Paul Gallagher (a large format black and white photographer) inspired me to attempt a shot of my own in this medium. I knew I had some wonderful, transient, light to work with but the lake was too featureless to offer any major interest to the composition. Instead, I found some rocks that helped lead the eye through the scene and waited for the decisive moment when the sun appeared sending shafts of light down onto the landscape from behind the brooding mass of clouds billowing off the fells above.
