The nearest major airport is Gatwick. Fromm here, either take a train into London St Pancras and down to Rochester to the rendezvous or use a taxi. Ferries arrive into Dover daily and the Channel Tunnel also provides easy access into Kent with a vehicle.
If it’s Fully booked what can I do?
Please get in touch via email or telephone and we can put you on the reserve list. If a place becomes available we'll let you know.
What sort of history will I experience?
Imagine standing in the very place inside Canterbury Cathedral where Thomas Beckett was slain by two Knights of the Realm, or gazing out to sea from the White cliffs of Dover across a stretch of water that has seen the Romans land, William the Conqueror, the Spanish Armada and Nelson’s fleet pass by before the battle of Britain was fought overhead in the skies above…
To be on Kent’s coast is to be at the forefront of Britain’s history.
What sort of artistic and creative experience will I have?
Imagine visiting the locations painted by JMW Turner and turning your own hand to some painting or photography of these locations. We'll visit both the vibrant independent and larger arts galleries on the Kent and Sussex coast, find art installations in the landscape, explore the town where Charles Dickens wrote Bleak House, visit a rich and varied coastal landscape and learn new photography skills from your tour guide and pro fine art photographer Alex Hare.
How much photography will we be able to do?
Photography is embedded into the tour so that, where possible, we can take advantage of any dawn or sunset locations if this is something you would like to experience. If not, enjoy extra time in bed and we will re visit our photography at a number of locations on the tour during our daily itinerary.
I have special dietary requirements, is this tour suitable for me?
Yes, absolutely. Tell me in advance what your needs are and we will ensure that these are catered for. We will eat in a variety of local and independent pubs, restaurants and cafes serving a full and diverse menu of food for vegetarians and vegans.

Kent is not a physically strenuous region to explore and discover so, in general, I would not want to put anyone off. However, if you tell me what your specific needs are we can discuss further. In general, our itinerary is mixed and varied and some activities do require walking distances of up to 2 miles on public footpaths. Other activities will be in towns and galleries where mobility is not such a requirement.
What sort of rooms and accommodation will we stay in?
We will enjoy guest houses and hotels that have comfortable, minimum 3 star ratings, with en suite bathrooms.
I’m travelling alone, can I have single occupancy rooms?
Yes, this can be arranged and we will arrangefor your room to be en suite.
What are lunch and evening meal arrangements?
Each day will include a stop at a pub, restaurant or cafe for lunch and supper.
