Field Notes
This was my first visit to Blea Tarn and I couldn't ask for more beautiful light and conditions; still, calm water and a great reveal as the cloud swiftly blew over to bathe the scnery in fresh, post rain storm light. The little stones break the water and foreground up nicely and add some additional interest, although great care was taken to arrange them in my composition.Tthe timing of the shot is most important; with the shadows swifly disappearing I made my exposure at the halfway point so there was a balance between the lit and unlit areas which captured this exhillarating passage of light.
