Field Notes

The Autumn colours in the Lake District are beautiful; the variety of trees creates a rnage of colours that create a varied landscape. For this photo, I used a long exposure to remove to remove the sharp ripples in the water and soften the clouds in contrast to the much more detaiiled and sharply defined trees and hills. This combinnation is a favourite approach I have for creating a sense of tension and the aesthetic qualities it brings are still familiar to our own, lived, experience of the landscape.
