Field Notes

Luskentyre Bay is well known for the beautiful, swirling, silica sands that light up under both clear and overcast skies when the tide is just right. But searching for its other secrets led me to a section of rock on the northern edge which had both beautiful, marbles textures and tones that worked well with the heavy overcast sky above. Often I find myself trying to solve the riddle of the landscape which is less about compositoin tha it is about finding a way to join the elements of land and sky into a cohesive whole. And when the light is not onbviously photogrnic this can be hard, however, here i would not have wanted any other light for this beautfully weathered rock.
