Field Notes

The sand dunes at Luskentyre bay are beautifully shaped by the wind that blows the sand here and there into gorgeous patterns. The only problem exploring them is our own footprints blemishing the perfecly formed sand, like fresh snow, it's impossible to undo! Here, under quite harsh but changeable light the sand glowed bright and the sand provided sight lines in and through the grasses. Thanks to a strong graduated neutral density filter on the sky to hold back the exposure in this area I controlled the exposure and captured the soft, wind shaped textures along with the gracefully shped grass within this spectacular landscape.
