Field Notes

The combination of mist and autumnal conditions is hard to resist and an early morning spent exploring the hillside at Loughrigg Fell for views produced this shot. For most of my time, I was worried I'd not take any shots so thick was the mist and cloud but when the sun finally broke thorugh and bathed the landscape in some peircingly sharp, early morning light it lit the trees with a veery special radiance and glow. Although elusive, this light special, and worth persisting with because it's really quite special when it happens.
