Turner used long brush strokes to join sea and sky together when he wanted to emphasise great movement in each. At the heart of these works sits a vessel seemingly suspended in time and space and at the absolute mercy of these powerful elements. In this photo, I’ve tried to use the soft, diffused light to blend sea and sky together and hold the sharper, more distinct wreck in contrast to this soft, ethereal backdrop in Turner’s style.
