Field Notes

The Lake District is renowned for stunning vistas and classic 'views' of spectacular scenery. But looking closer, in a more abstract and less obvious way, also reveals infinite possibilities. Although this could be taken (more or less) anywhere, it was all part of my overall experience of a trip to the Lakes that also included exploring bigger, classic views. The great thing about this location is that you can apply your creattive mind to a variety of compositional approaches and techniques. These two trees have a lovely synergy about how they relate with one another and the mist creates a soft, whimsical 'space' between them that creates a sense of depth and separation which would be lost without it.
