This workshop is timed to allow for us to visit some of the evocative and unique locations on the North Kent Coast. From sea pools around Thanet, to stormy summer skies from Minnis Bay to sunset at the Reculver Towers, we will explore the area seeking out the best light at the best tide times.
Our start time is 14.00 through to sunset at circa 20.00. Once you have booked, I will email you with confirmation of times and places to meet prior to the workshop commencing.
This is a course allowing you to spend time with an experienced and award winning landscape photographer and author of the forthcoming book ‘Photographing Kent’, published by fotovue.
You can ask questions, learn about your camera and your own creative interpretation of a scene in a fun and friendly group. We'll cover technical settings for our camera, creative decision making and look at the location to assess where might be best for our photography over the course of the day.
I hope that by the end of this workshop you’ll feel greater confidence in handling your camera and some landscape photography skills and techniques that will be of good use for your future photography.
We will specifically seek out opportunities for long exposures, cloudscapes and less obvious compositions and subject matter.
Please ensure you read the FAQ’s on what to bring etc.

Please get in touch via email or telephone and we can put you on the reserve list. If a place becomes available we'll let you know.
What kit & caboodle should I bring?
A camera, tripod and a selection of lenses - ideally covering ultra wide angle to telephoto. Tripods are essential-let me know if you dont own one. Also spare batteries and memory cards.
If you dont have any filters (polariser, ND Grads, Stopper Filters etc) and want to try them and learn how to use them, we have kits you can borrow. Just tell us in advannce.
Also, bring good walking boots and clothing for any kind of weather and wellies are strongly recommended for UK workshops. Comfortable backpack and waterproofs for you and your gear. It can be chilly in the evening so warm clothes are recommended.
Water bottle will be handy as at times we will be out in the open but we are never far from a cafe, pub and/or public toilet.

With a small group of only eight participants there will be more than enough opportunity to cover everything from the basic skills of landscape photography (if required) to more advanced, creative techniques.
