Macro photography offers a fascinating insight into the small world that we often miss; the world of bugs, plants and little flying things. There's also something quite compelling about capturing the intricate details and colours of a tiny ladybird or perhaps the shapes and patterns in weathered rocks; one minute they are there, the next they are off or covered by the tide and the chance has gone. A collection of black and white landscape photographs from various locations around the world. My view on black and white is that, generally, one needs even better (or at least more appropriate) light than for a colour photograph. Sometimes a view just works in mono where it doesn’t in colour and this collection is here to showcase my work in these circumstances. Many of the photographs have a Field Note with technical and creative information, just open a photograph and click the 'i' button to read more.
