Field Notes

Although fairly inoccuous, this litle stream provided a lot of inspiration for photography. I enjoyed working with the soft, diffused light and identifying the dips, ebbs and flow of the water as it surged in and around the rocks it carried, inexorably, down the mountain and towards the sea. A reasonably long exposure of 1/2 a second smoothed the water out to a texture more akin to how I pereceived it with my eyes, as it gushed past in perpetual motion. With the smooth arcs it makes as it works its way in and around the rocks the energy and beauty of this most precious element seemed apparent and profound even in this tiny sample captured here.
